: The AGROINNOVA project, executed by the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), finished the high-level course on innovation and coffee growing in Multi-stratum Agroforestry Systems by different producer associations in Xesiguán and Salamchó, Guatemala. This training lasted four months, starting on May 4 and ending on August 24.
The project worked together with two representatives from different coffee producer associations in Xesiguán and Salamchó. The following organizations participated: ASORPROCAFE, ACUDEC, APEPROCAP, and the Xesiguán Community Production Committee Association. The training’s objective was to improve crop production and covered topics such as the strategic planning process, technical assistance in sustainable production, soil nutrition and fertility, soil and shade management, and the establishment of coffee plantations.
