The ESSA project, headed by the University of Helsinki, recently concluded a highly successful three-day training initiative titled “Targeted Communication of Research, Development, and Engagement Findings.” at University of Nairobi, Kenya This collaborative effort brought together expertise from both the University of Nairobi, Kenya, and the University of Helsinki.
From the 25th to the 27th of March 2024, a diverse group of participants engaged in this enriching program. Among them were four esteemed trainers representing the University of Helsinki, University of Nairobi, and DeSIRA Lift, alongside 20 eager trainees drawn from various ESSA Partners.
Throughout the duration of the training, participants engaged into a range of pertinent topics, including popular science article writing, policy brief composition, research brief drafting, and the art of crafting compelling narratives of change. Under the guidance of seasoned professionals, attendees actively participated and showcased a profound grasp of the subject matter.
By successfully completing this rigorous training regimen, each participant demonstrated a steadfast commitment to honing their communication skills. Moreover, they affirmed their dedication to facilitating the effective dissemination of research and development findings within their respective spheres of influence.
This collaborative endeavor not only empowered individuals but also fostered a culture of knowledge exchange and collaboration, furthering the overarching goals of the ESSA project.
