Agroecology offers a sustainable approach to transforming agrifood systems by integrating ecological, social, and economic principles. The Agroecology for Africa course, created by the FAO in collaboration with AFSA and the McKnight Foundation, provides an in-depth look at how agroecological practices can support the transformation of agrifood systems in Africa.
This course is designed for government officials, policymakers, and anyone interested in learning about agroecology. It covers key principles and practices, along with practical case studies from Africa, to show how agroecology can enhance ecosystem health, improve farm resilience, and contribute to social and economic sustainability. It also explores the challenges and solutions for scaling agroecology at community, national, and regional levels.
The course consists of four lessons, each taking 45-70 minutes to complete. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a digital certificate.
