From October 21 to 25, 2024, Dr. Frederic Georget of CIRAD visited NaCORI to enhance techniques for generating KR coffee clones using somatic embryogenesis (SE) and mini-cuttings. During the visit, Dr. Georget demonstrated energy-efficient methods for direct SE and selected promising cultures for further research. He praised the team’s progress in producing well-rooted cuttings and provided advice on optimizing limited space in the screenhouse. This visit underscores ongoing efforts to improve sustainable coffee production through advanced cloning methods, aiming to enhance crop resilience and quality.
